itsawheelthing: what we miss … the dunesJody Scheckter (Ferrari 312T4) & Niki Lauda (Parmalat Brabham-Alfa Romeo BT48) heading towards temporary chicane at Hondenvlak during the 1979 Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoorta chicane was demanded during the 1979 pre-season in order to reduce speeds towards the very fast back section of the track (Tunnel Oost & Panaroma corner)however the chicane had no influence whatsoever on speeds, after a few laps most drivers were able to take the chicane at full race speedto counter this a new full time chicane was constructed for 1980 which would be named the Marlboro corner
